My Thoughts
A brand new Herman Miller Aeron Chair costs around $1,800. You can easily use the chair for a minimum of 5 years and resell it for $800. It costs $200 per year for a 5-year usage. In my opinion, if you’re sitting in the chair for more than 25 hours a week; it is worth it. My recommendation is to try and sit on the chairs you have your eye on, and see if it suits you. Do not buy ANY chair that doesn’t guarantee you butt and back comfort. If you’re not comfortable sitting on it within the first 8 minutes, it is only gonna get worse when you bring it home and sit on it for the next 8 hours.

If you’ve sat on a chair that isn’t one of the aforementioned, the next question you want to ask is — Can the chair lasts for a minimum of 3 years and costs $600 or less? If the chair cannot last that long, chances are you want to find a cheaper alternative or risk buying another chair within the next 3 years. A good chair doesn’t simply treat your butt and back well, a really good chair saves you time, money and energy in trying out other chairs too.
